Funds raised will support the cancer treatment and dialysis redevelopment at Hamilton Base Hospital.
Thanks to the generosity of our community we have already raised over $400,000 for this project,
but we still need your help to reach our target of $1million.
The rate at which cancer is diagnosed in our region is increasing and over the next five years 2,500 new cancer diagnoses are expected on average annually in the Barwon Southwest, with 25% of these occurring in the service area of WDHS.
To provide better services locally and to meet this growing need, WDHS has embarked on a redevelopment project to improve the delivery of cancer services in our region and reduce the need for cancer patients to travel long distances for quality care.
The new oncology unit will look out over an internal courtyard and will also include a new dialysis area. It will occupy approximately 200 square metres – a significant increase on the current treatment area at WDHS.
